The Story

About the Product: Old Dominick's Bonded Tennessee Whiskey is years in the making — literally. The first barrels were laid down in the fall of 2017 in Old Dominick's barrel room on South Front Street in Memphis, and what emerged is a whiskey that honors both the Bottled-in-Bond tradition and Tennessee's own signature style. Built on a mashbill of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley, it delivers a silky, medium-bodied experience that punches well above its price point. Complex enough to sip, balanced enough to pour freely — this is the kind of bottle you stop saving for special occasions.

About Old Dominick Distillery: The Old Dominick story is one of Memphis, family, and a very long wait. In 1866, a 16-year-old Italian immigrant named Domenico Canale arrived in Tennessee, built a trading company from scratch, and eventually created a whiskey that bore his name. He passed away just three days before Prohibition — and with him, so did the distillery. Over a century later, fifth-generation descendants Chris and Alex Canale revived the brand, opening Old Dominick Distillery in downtown Memphis in 2017 just steps from where Domenico first set up shop. Under the direction of Master Distiller Alex Castle, Old Dominick became Memphis's first whiskey-making distillery since before Prohibition — a grain-to-glass operation housed in a restored 100-year-old building, producing spirits that carry 160 years of family history in every bottle.

What is Bottled-in-Bond?: Bottled-in-Bond is one of the oldest and most rigorous quality guarantees in American spirits — born out of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, which President Grover Cleveland signed to protect consumers from dishonest distillers who were adulterating their whiskey with everything from iodine to gasoline. To earn the designation, a whiskey must be the product of a single distilling season, from a single distiller at a single distillery, aged at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse under government supervision, and bottled at exactly 100 proof. No shortcuts, no blending across seasons, no adjusting the proof — the government's seal is the guarantee.
